Children’s Ministries

Otterbein United Methodist Church has a wonderful Sunday School department.  We have bright, cherry classrooms and dedicated teachers who have years of teaching experience among them.  All of the workers in the Sunday School department have been background checked to ensure that your children are safe.  

Children’s church begins at 9:00 a.m. During this time, we have classes for nursery age, preschool, early elementary, late elementary, Jr. High and High School.  At 10:15, our classes from early elementary up head up to the sanctuary to enjoy the beginning of the service. After the children’s talk, the kids head back and go to Jr. Choir or Cherub Choir practice. Then it’s back to the classrooms for snacks and games until the end of the main service.  

Our children participate in approximately 2 missions projects a year. We have collected everything from macaroni and cheese to school supplies to socks to give to local charities.  We believe this encourages the children to learn to serve others.

Our children also have the opportunity to attend summer camps through the East Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.  They can choose Camp Aldersgate, Camp Asbury, or Camp Wanake.  These camps are fun and affordable.  To check out what they have to offer, visit www.eastohiocamps.org .
